According to Yejing, on May 20, a user sued Doupack's operator, Beijing Chunetian Zhiyun Technology, after being misled on ticket refund fees. The user had asked the AI assistant about canceling a Shijiazhuang-Chongqing flight ticket, and Doupack claimed only a 5% fee would be charged. However, the actual deduction was 40%, resulting in a 600 yuan loss.
After discovering the discrepancy, Doupack promised full reimbursement by May 6 and issued a written compensation commitment. When the deadline passed without payment, the AI cited inability to transfer funds directly. The user filed suit on May 12. Beijing Xingquan Law Firm attorney Deng Yile stated that AI-generated repayment promises lack legal validity, as AI lacks civil subject status and cannot independently make binding expressions.
