Hunan Police Recover and Return Full 100,000 Yuan Defrauded in USDT Scam

According to Hunan Daily, a man from outside the province was defrauded of 100,000 yuan in February while attempting to purchase USDT online. After receiving the report on February 9, Baojing Public Security Bureau launched an investigation and identified the suspect as Shi, who had no legitimate income or virtual currency trading credentials. Shi fabricated fake profit records using screenshots from others and impersonated an experienced trader to gain the victim's trust. The victim transferred 100,000 yuan to an account provided by Shi, who subsequently spent part of the funds on gambling and dispersed the rest. Police arrested Shi that same night. On May 14, all 100,000 yuan in defrauded funds were recovered and returned to the victim. Shi has been detained on suspicion of fraud.
