According to CriptoNoticias, Chilean judicial authorities have launched an investigation into Plusspay, a cryptocurrency platform, on suspicion of facilitating money laundering for Alagoas Train, a transnational criminal organization.
The investigation revealed that Plusspay allegedly converted local currency into stablecoins—including Tether and U.S. dollar stablecoins—through multiple affiliated companies, using Chile's banking system to move funds. Suspicious fund flows linked to the platform exceeded $84 million.
