According to the Wall Street Journal on May 26, the media outlet retracted an earlier report claiming the U.S. Navy escorted a Greek-flagged supertanker carrying 2 million barrels of crude oil through Omani coastal waters as part of a renewed 'Operation Prosperity Guardian.' A U.S. Central Command spokesman stated the U.S. has not resumed the plan, and the report regarding its restart was inaccurate. The WSJ acknowledged the error in its previous version.
