Wall Street Journal Retracts Report on U.S. Navy's Freedom of Navigation Mission

GateNews
According to Wall Street Journal and U.S. Central Command, the media outlet recently corrected its earlier reporting on U.S. Navy operations in the Middle East. The initial report claimed that a Greek-flagged supertanker carrying crude oil was escorted through waters off Oman as part of the U.S. Navy's renewed Freedom of Navigation initiative. A CENTCOM spokesperson subsequently stated that the United States has not resumed the Freedom of Navigation plan, and the original reporting was inaccurate. WSJ acknowledged the error, clarifying that the coordination between U.S. forces and the commercial vessel was not part of a reinitiated Freedom of Navigation campaign.
