US Treasury Sanctions Sinaloa Cartel Operative for Cryptocurrency Money Laundering

According to the US Treasury Department, the agency sanctioned Armando de Jesus Ojeda Aviles and multiple associates for using cryptocurrency to launder drug-trafficking proceeds for the Sinaloa Cartel. The Treasury's Office of Foreign Assets Control said the network launders profits from fentanyl, cocaine, and methamphetamine sales.
