According to Arkham Intelligence, Ireland's Criminal Assets Bureau and Europol's European Cybercrime Centre secured another 500 BTC valued at roughly $38.7 million from a dormant cryptocurrency wallet tied to a 2019 Irish drug trafficking case on Tuesday. Europol provided decryption resources that enabled investigators to access the wallet, which had remained inactive for 10 years. The seizure marks the second time authorities have accessed dormant wallets from the same case; in March, the CAB and Europol recovered an additional 500 BTC from a separate wallet.
