US Dollar Index Rises 0.037% on July 27, Three Consecutive Days of Gains

According to Yonhapinfomax, the US Dollar Index (DXY) rose 0.037% to 101.514 on July 27 afternoon (US Eastern Time), extending gains for a third consecutive trading day. The dollar strengthened amid weakness in sterling and the Swiss franc, despite a sharp decline in crude oil prices.

Against the yen, the dollar-yen rate fell 0.070% to 163.741, while the euro-dollar rate dropped 0.001% to 1.13699. Sterling weakened 0.227% to 1.32918 per dollar as UK inflation expectations faded following the oil decline, reducing the probability of a rate hike by the Bank of England ahead of its monetary policy decision on July 30. Brent crude for September delivery fell 8.70% to $88.36 per barrel.
