Two Texas Brothers Plead Guilty to $8 Million Crypto Robbery, Face 20-Year Prison Sentence

According to federal prosecutors, two brothers pleaded guilty Thursday to robbing a Minnesota family of $8 million in cryptocurrency after holding them at gunpoint during a September 2025 home invasion. Isiah Angelo Garcia, 25, and Raymond Christian Garcia, 24, both of Waller, Texas, admitted to the armed robbery before U.S. District Judge Ann Montgomery in Minneapolis. The brothers traveled to Grant, Minnesota, on September 19, 2025, where they held the victim and his family at gunpoint, zip-tied them, and forced them to transfer over $8 million in crypto. Investigators traced items left behind at the home to identify and arrest the brothers near Houston. Both defendants agreed to pay full restitution and face up to 20 years in federal prison; sentencing has not yet been scheduled.
