South Korea's Top Three Department Store Stocks Fall 31-39% in July Correction

According to Korea Exchange data on July 23, South Korea's top three department store chains—Hyundai Department Store, Lotte Shopping, and Shinsegae—declined sharply this month after hitting peaks in June. Hyundai Department Store fell 31.31% from its June 17 peak, while Shinsegae dropped 31.31% from June 3 levels. Lotte Shopping declined 39.24% following a June high. Analysts attributed the pullback to profit-taking after steep first-half gains and a lack of positive catalysts in July, amid broader semiconductor sector strength easing concerns.
