South Korean Individual Investors Net Sell 6.8 Trillion Won in 3 Days as Market Rebounds

According to Korea Exchange, individual investors net sold 6.8 trillion won worth of stocks over three trading days (July 21-23), as market fear persisted despite gains. Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix led the selloff with net outflows of 2.16 trillion won and 1.81 trillion won respectively. Investor deposit balances fell sharply from 139 trillion won in early July to 106 trillion won by July 21, a decline of 33 trillion won. Margin financing balances also decreased from 38 trillion won to 33 trillion won recently, indicating reduced risk appetite.
