Meta CEO Admits AI Restructuring 'Mistakes,' Reiterates No Company-Wide Layoffs This Year

According to Reuters, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg acknowledged in an internal memo this year that the company made errors while restructuring operations around artificial intelligence, and reiterated Meta will not conduct further company-wide layoffs in 2026.

Zuckerberg wrote: "Given the complexity of these changes, we made mistakes and will almost certainly make more." Meta raised its 2026 capital expenditure guidance to between $125 billion and $145 billion in April. In May, the company reduced global headcount by approximately 10 percent and reassigned 7,000 employees to AI-related projects.
