According to CNBC, billionaire investor and GMO co-founder Jeremy Grantham criticized Bitcoin on June 27 as a 'useless speculative' asset with no intrinsic value, predicting it will gradually become irrelevant over years or decades. Grantham stated: 'It will gradually fade away, not collapse suddenly, but disappear silently.' He argued Bitcoin is not a stable store of value, having declined sharply even during strong economic conditions, and lacks real-world utility—people do not use it for serious transactions, purchases, or legitimate commerce. Grantham also noted that gold, by contrast, has demonstrated stable gains despite pullbacks from highs.
