China Targets Telecom Fraud and Organized Crime in Law Enforcement Push

According to remarks made on May 27 at a State Council Information Office press conference, China's Central Political and Legal Affairs Commission announced enforcement priorities for advancing comprehensive law-based governance. Deputy Secretary-General Teng Jiguo outlined plans to establish a unified national platform for laws and regulations, strengthen enforcement against telecommunications fraud, illegal fundraising, and other crimes affecting public interests, and institutionalize organized crime suppression mechanisms. The commission will also advance digital platforms for political-legal operations to enhance inter-departmental coordination and oversight.
