Chainalysis Partners with South Korean Police to Combat Crypto Crime Amid $578M North Korean Theft

According to Chainalysis, the blockchain analytics firm and South Korea's Korean National Police Agency signed a memorandum of understanding on June 10 to strengthen cryptocurrency crime investigations. North Korea-linked crypto theft topped $578 million in April, while CrowdStrike research showed North Korean hackers caused $2 billion in crypto losses in 2025, up 51% from 2024. Under the agreement, the KNPA will receive training, certification programs, and blockchain analysis tools from Chainalysis to investigate cross-border illicit fund flows and domestic fraud cases.
