Australia Strengthens Social Media Ban for Users Under 16 on June 27

According to CCTV, Australia's federal government proposed new legislation on June 27 to strengthen its social media ban targeting users under 16.

The move comes after the country implemented the world's first social media ban for minors in December 2025. Despite the ban, approximately 85% of users under 16 in Australia have found ways to circumvent the restrictions and continue using social media platforms.
