Amazon Announces Multi-Billion Dollar Data Center Investment in Missouri, Creating 400+ Jobs

According to BlockBeats, Amazon announced on June 16 that it will invest billions of dollars to develop an advanced data center campus in Montgomery County, Missouri. The project is expected to create over 400 full-time data center positions and thousands of construction jobs, while generating hundreds of millions in tax revenue.

As part of its commitment, Amazon will invest over $7 million in the local community, including $3 million for emergency dispatch services and over $1 million for a community activity center, alongside a dedicated community fund. Amazon also pledged to upgrade road and water infrastructure, partnering with utility provider Ameren Missouri to ensure data center energy costs do not burden residential users. The facility will use natural air cooling approximately 90% of the time and employ water recycling systems, with annual water usage representing less than 0.1% of the local aquifer's annual recharge rate.
