The current internet is essentially a system of continuous forgetting.

Information is produced, then submerged, then deleted.
It seems very active, but there is no true sedimentation.
What @Permaweb_DAO promotes is the internet's first real memory.
The structure of Permaweb is straightforward: storage is responsible for long-term existence, computation handles the logic, and the gateway manages access.
These parts come together to form a system that does not rely on a single point; it is not just an application, but a new underlying approach.
Traditional internet is like a flow of information, constantly refreshing, constantly disappearing; Permaweb is more like a library, where content is stored, preserved, and called upon long-term.
Not for updates, but for existence.
Short-term content will still continue to flow, but long-term content will gradually migrate to more stable structures.
The internet will be layered: one layer for flow, one layer for sedimentation.
Users will ultimately experience a slow but profound change—you start to get used to certain content not disappearing, begin to rely on some information existing long-term.
This sense of stability will slowly become the new standard.
When the internet no longer forgets, it will truly mature.
