Trump responds on whether to send more troops to the Middle East

U.S. President Trump answered media questions at the White House on the 19th, when asked whether he planned to send more troops to the Middle East during military operations against Iran, saying, “I will not deploy troops anywhere. If I were to do so, I certainly wouldn’t tell you. But I am not deploying troops.” Earlier, international media citing U.S. officials and informed sources reported that the Trump administration is considering sending thousands of U.S. troops to the Middle East to support military actions against Iran. Trump also claimed that the United States could seize Iran’s oil export hub, Kharg Island, at any time. He stated that the reason U.S. forces did not bomb the oil facilities when they previously attacked the island was because rebuilding would take several years. (Xinhua)
