High pressure can worsen dermatitis. Chinese scientists have for the first time discovered scientific evidence.
Fudan University Brain Science Institute / National Key Laboratory of Brain Function and Brain Disease, Center for Frontiers in Brain Science Youth Researcher Liu Shenbin’s team published a research paper titled “Sympathetic Nervous System-Eosinophil Axis Mediates Psychological Stress-Exacerbated Skin Inflammation” in the journal Science on March 20, Beijing time.
The study systematically reveals the neuroimmunological mechanism by which brain stress signals are recruited and activated by skin sympathetic nerves through specific pathways to eosinophils, triggering a cascade amplification of inflammation.
This research uncovers for the first time a secret pathway connecting the “brain” and the “skin”—psychological stress can directly command immune cells to “work” through specific neural pathways, thereby worsening skin inflammation.
