Deep Tide TechFlow news. On April 15, according to Cointelegraph, Cypherpunk Jameson Lopp and multiple experts in the field of Bitcoin quantum security proposed a Bitcoin Improvement Proposal BIP-361, recommending freezing quantum-vulnerable addresses, including Satoshi Nakamoto’s reserve, to prevent future quantum computers from stealing approximately 1.7 million Bitcoins.
The proposal will be advanced in three phases: first, prohibiting transfers to legacy addresses; second, after five years, making legacy signatures invalid and freezing unmigrated assets; and finally, allowing some users to recover frozen funds through a zero-knowledge proof mechanism. The proposal aims to promote the migration of the entire network to quantum-resistant addresses, but it has been opposed by some community members who believe it violates Bitcoin’s decentralization principles and has authoritarian and predatory characteristics.
