Recently, I’ve been pondering a question: why do some people continuously break through themselves, while others remain stagnant? I’ve realized the key lies in a mindset — the zero-restart mindset.

Simply put, the zero-restart mindset is the courage to empty your cup. Imagine your cup is already full of water; pouring more in won’t make a difference. But if you’re willing to pour it out, you can hold even more. People are the same; if you’re always obsessed with past achievements, status, and fame, you’ll stay there forever. Zeroing out means letting go, breaking through, and rebuilding.

I’ve found that many people don’t truly understand the danger of their comfort zone. Everyone thinks the comfort zone is just lying on the beach doing nothing, but that’s not it. The real comfort zone is being so busy that you have no time to think, so busy that you don’t even realize you’re in a comfort zone. This kind of comfort zone is even more frightening because you’re completely unaware of it.

The zero-restart mindset is about daring to shed your shell. Wang Yangming once said, “Breaking the mountain’s bandits is easy; breaking the bandit in your heart is hard.” The outer shell is easy to break, but the inner shell is invisible and hard. The process of transformation inevitably involves blood and pain. But precisely because of that, it’s worth doing.

Life is like riding a bicycle; only by moving forward constantly can you avoid falling. Stopping is actually the most dangerous. The so-called “crown and glory are temporary brilliance, but permanent bondage.” To dare to zero out, to dare to give up, is where true gains come from.

Some people ask, why not first determine what can be gained, then decide what to give up? Because the future is unpredictable; no one can predict it accurately. But that’s the beauty of life. The more confidence you have in the future, the more patience you have for the present. Following an old map will never lead to new lands. That’s the power of the zero-restart mindset.
