According to Royal Bank of Canada analyst Abbas Keshvani, the yen is unlikely to appreciate before Japan's central bank slows quantitative tightening. The BOJ has planned to ease its quantitative tightening pace starting April 2027.

RBC forecasts the U.S. dollar to weaken to 154 yen by the end of 2027, as moderating QT could stabilize Japanese government bond yields and encourage local investors to repatriate capital into yen-denominated assets.
