World Bank Plans to Cut China Sovereign Lending to Under $2B Annually for 2026-2031

According to Finance Ministry officials, the World Bank plans to reduce sovereign lending to China to no more than $2 billion per year during the 2026-2031 period, according to recent reports.

The Finance Ministry said the reduction reflects changing domestic needs and evolving cooperation between the two parties, noting it aligns with how many countries' partnerships with the World Bank have evolved over time.
