U.S. Federal Debt Hits Record $39.7 Trillion, Rising $7 Billion Daily

According to the U.S. Treasury Department, federal government debt reached an all-time high of $39.7 trillion last week, increasing by approximately $7 billion per day. The debt ceiling was raised by $5 trillion to $41.1 trillion in July 2025, and more than half has already been consumed; the Bipartisan Policy Center estimates the next debt limit will be reached between late 2026 and mid-2027.

Bitcoin is trading at approximately $63,800, up from below $58,000 on June 1, while gold futures stand at $4,097.50 per troy ounce. Both assets have climbed as U.S. debt accelerates, with corporate treasury managers including Metaplanet and Strategy acquiring significant Bitcoin positions as inflation hedges against currency debasement.
