Ukraine Pursues Domestic Production of SCALP Missiles and Patriot Systems, Negotiating With France and U.S.

According to Kyiv Independent, on June 29, Ukraine's Defense Minister Mikhail Fedorov announced progress in negotiations with France over a license agreement to domestically produce SCALP cruise missiles. The SCALP, jointly developed by France and the UK, has a maximum range of 560 kilometers and is designed to fly low over terrain, making it difficult to intercept. Separately, Ukraine is accelerating negotiations with the United States for a license to produce Patriot air defense missiles domestically. Following President Zelenskyy's recent meeting with U.S. President Donald Trump, the U.S. showed positive signals for the first time regarding Patriot production licensing, according to Kyiv Independent.
