Tesla Model 3 Crashes Into House in Houston, Killing Woman; NHTSA Initiates Special Investigation on June 22

According to the Wall Street Journal, the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) launched a special crash investigation (SCI) into a Tesla Model 3 crash in Houston on June 22. On June 19, a Tesla Model 3 left the roadway at high speed and struck a house in Harris County, killing a 70-year-old woman who was at the entrance. The driver stated they were using Tesla's advanced driver assistance system (ADAS) at the time of the crash, though it remains unclear whether this referred to the Full Self-Driving (FSD) feature.
