SWIFT Blockchain Ledger Enters Pilot Phase with 17 Financial Institutions Testing Tokenized Deposits

According to ChainCatcher, SWIFT announced its blockchain-based distributed ledger has entered the initial application phase, with 17 global financial institutions serving as early adopters to test real-time transactions using tokenized deposits. The project was completed within nine months following SWIFT's announcement at the 2025 Sibos conference. The pilot focuses on cross-border payment efficiency, enabling participating banks to issue tokenized deposits based on their own ledgers, allowing round-the-clock fund transfers before final settlement through existing clearing systems.
