According to The Block, Swan Bitcoin CEO Cory Klippsten criticized Tether and its supported Twenty One Capital on a podcast interview on July 24, claiming Tether "effectively controls" the publicly-listed bitcoin reserve company and uses it to advance political interests in the United States, though he provided no evidence. Klippsten described Strike founder Jack Mallers' CEO role at Twenty One as nominal, stating his primary responsibility is promoting company stock. Mallers stepped down as CEO this week, while Strike simultaneously exited a potential merger with Twenty One. Tether did not respond to requests for comment.
