Elizabeth Warren's Crypto Disclosure Deadline for Trump Expires Today; White House Declines

Senator Elizabeth Warren's deadline for President Donald Trump to voluntarily disclose his 2026 cryptocurrency earnings and holdings falls today (July 23). According to the White House, the president has already declined to comply, citing that his assets are managed by independent third-party financial institutions with no conflicts of interest.

Warren, ranking member of the Senate Banking Committee, sent the request on July 16 asking Trump to publish an updated financial disclosure covering crypto income and holdings from January 1 through July 15, 2026. The disclosure request carries no legal force; the president's mandatory annual financial disclosure is not due until May 2027. Warren argued the information is needed as Congress votes on the Digital Asset Market Clarity Act, which would split digital asset oversight between the SEC and CFTC. The request was prompted by the Office of Government Ethics' June 30 disclosure showing Trump reported approximately $1.4 billion in crypto-related income for 2025, more than double the prior year.
