SpaceX Acquires Cursor for $60B in All-Stock Deal; AI Coding Startup's Revenue Hits $4B Run Rate

According to Jason Calacanis, Elon Musk ally and All-In podcast co-host, SpaceX announced on Tuesday the acquisition of Anysphere, maker of AI coding platform Cursor, in a $60 billion all-stock deal. Cursor recently reached a $4 billion annualized revenue run rate, up from $3 billion in April. Calacanis called it the "best acquisition since Instagram and YouTube," citing Cursor's access to SpaceX's Colossus data centers and computing infrastructure. However, to match Instagram's $32 billion annual revenue, Cursor would need to grow eightfold; to approach YouTube's $60 billion revenue, it would need to expand roughly 15 times from current levels.
