South Korea's Central Bank Governor Attends Parliament on July 29 as Markets Watch Inflation, Semiconductor Outlook

According to Yonhap Infomax, South Korea's central bank Governor Shin Hyun-song will attend a parliamentary hearing on July 29, with markets closely watching his assessment of Q2 GDP and GDI (Gross Domestic Income) growth figures. The latest consumer inflation expectations survey showed a 1.7% one-year inflation rate, down 0.1 percentage point from the previous month.

Morgan Stanley forecast that semiconductor prices will peak in Q4 2026 before declining. Analysts in the bond market are monitoring the central bank's stance on the recent sharp semiconductor stock adjustments and whether further monetary tightening may impact economic growth.
