According to the Korean Exchange, South Korean robot stocks rebounded sharply on July 23 following Samsung Electronics' formal entry into the robotics business. Rainbow Robotics, Samsung's largest shareholder subsidiary, surged 6.17% to 508,000 KRW (up 35.65% from July 21 opening), with gains of 9.73%, 16.28%, and 6.17% over three consecutive days. Doosan Robotics rose 3.25%, closing at 69,800 KRW, up 14.43% from July 21. Hyundai Motor also climbed to 429,000 KRW.
Robotics-focused ETFs recorded double-digit gains: TIGER Korea Humanoid Robotics Industry ETF jumped 20.15% from 7,320 KRW to 8,795 KRW, while ACE K Humanoid Industry TOP 2+ and HANARO K Humanoid Theme TOP10 rose 19.96% and 18.94%, respectively. Samsung's July 21 announcement of a new RX (Robotics Experience) business division reversed the sector's downward trend after domestic robotics market capitalization had fallen 52.3% from January's 49 trillion KRW to 23 trillion KRW by July 20.
