SK Hynix Debuts on Nasdaq with $26.5B IPO, Soars 17% on First Day

According to Korea Economic TV, SK Hynix, the world's largest high-bandwidth memory (HBM) supplier, listed on Nasdaq via American Depositary Receipts (ADR) on July 10, raising $26.5 billion at $149 per share. The IPO marks the largest offering by a foreign company on U.S. exchanges, surpassing Alibaba's 2014 record of $25 billion. SK Hynix shares opened at $170 and climbed to $175 by midday, a 17% gain from the offering price. SK Group Chairman Chey Tae-won noted the company could consider building memory fabrication plants in the United States if conditions are suitable, though investment in South Korea remains the priority.
