Qualcomm Developing Over 40 AI-Powered Wearable Devices as CEO Says Agents Will Replace Apps

According to CNBC's "The Tech Download" podcast, Qualcomm is developing over 40 new AI-powered device designs, with CEO Cristiano Amon stating that AI agents will become the primary interface for users instead of traditional apps. The wearable devices include jewelry, earbuds with cameras, pins, and watches designed to provide context and access to AI agents. "Those agents are going to be the new app," Amon said, adding that while apps are "not dead," their role will fundamentally change as agents handle more complex tasks across services.
