According to Annand Jagesar, general manager of Suriname's state oil company Staatsolie, Malaysia's Petronas is conducting oil exploration in offshore Block 52 off the coast of Suriname. The company is expected to announce the commercial viability of Block 52 oil resources within the coming 18 months.
