According to Reuters, Occidental Petroleum has acquired a 10% stake in a deepwater exploration block operated by ExxonMobil off Trinidad and Tobago. The block is adjacent to Guyana's prolific Stabroek field. The exploration carries elevated risk at its current stage. ExxonMobil is conducting seismic surveys in the area, with data interpretation expected to be completed by the end of 2026.
