Osaka Exchange Plans Bitcoin Futures Launch in 2028, Japan to Ease Crypto Asset Rules

According to Nikkei Asian Review, Osaka Exchange plans to launch Bitcoin futures in 2028 to meet institutional investors' hedging needs for Bitcoin ETF investments. Osaka Exchange CEO Akira Togatani made the statement in a recent interview.

Japan's Financial Services Agency intends to amend investment trust regulations before 2028, classifying cryptocurrencies as "specified assets" and enabling asset management companies to establish investment trusts containing digital currencies.
