Microsoft Warns Crypto Users of CryptoBandits Clipper Malware on Windows, Spreading via USB Drives

According to Microsoft Threat Intelligence on June 17, the company detailed a Windows-focused crypto clipper malware campaign tracked as Trojan:Win32/CryptoBandits.A. The malware spreads through removable USB drives by replacing legitimate documents with malicious shortcut files, then monitors the clipboard and replaces copied wallet addresses with attacker-controlled ones before victims send funds. Microsoft also reported the malware can target sensitive crypto material such as private keys or seed phrases, and uses Tor infrastructure for command-and-control traffic to evade network defenses.
