Meta, BlackRock Plan $14B AI Data Center in El Paso, Opening 2028

According to Bloomberg, on July 28, Meta Platforms and BlackRock plan to build a 1-gigawatt AI data center complex in El Paso, Texas, valued at approximately $14 billion. The site is set to open in 2028 with Meta as the initial sole tenant. BlackRock-managed funds will own 80% of the joint venture, while Meta holds the remaining 20%. Meta will contribute land and assets valued at $2.3 billion and receive a one-time payment of $1 billion, while BlackRock will contribute $4.9 billion in cash.
