LBMA Considers Earlier Gold Auction Time to Serve Asian Traders

AUCTION-0.41%

According to Jin10, the London Bullion Market Association is considering advancing its morning gold auction time to better accommodate Asian traders, CEO Ruth Crowel said on Monday at the Asia-Pacific Precious Metals Conference in Singapore. The potential adjustment aims to "reflect market conditions in the Asian session and facilitate price discovery during that period," Crowel said, noting the market has requested this change for years. The LBMA has not specified the proposed new time or implementation timeline.

Note: LBMA gold prices are currently published twice daily in U.S. dollars via electronic platforms at 10:30 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. London time, serving as the global benchmark for miners, refiners, investors, and central banks.
