Iranian Forces Attack Cargo Ship Ever Lovely in Strait of Hormuz on Thursday

According to multiple reports, the Iranian Revolutionary Guards (IRGC) attacked the Singapore-flagged cargo ship Ever Lovely in the Strait of Hormuz on Thursday (June 25), damaging its bridge, with no casualties reported. The incident occurred near Oman's coast hours after IRGC naval forces issued warnings regarding unauthorized shipping routes. According to two U.S. senior officials, the vessel was struck by unidentified projectiles on its starboard side. Following the attack, the International Maritime Organization (IMO) suspended a planned evacuation of hundreds of merchant vessels trapped in the Persian Gulf and announced it would reassess safety guarantees for the region. The incident threatens the 60-day U.S.-Iran ceasefire agreement signed last week, under which Iran pledged to ensure safe passage through the strait in exchange for American sanctions relief, which the U.S. implemented this week by lifting petroleum export restrictions.
