Iran Proposes $40 Billion Annual Service Fee for Strait of Hormuz Access on June 25

According to the Wall Street Journal, Iran proposed on June 25 to charge Gulf neighboring countries service fees for passage through the Strait of Hormuz. Iran estimated the arrangement would generate approximately $40 billion in annual revenue, and expressed interest in negotiating shared revenue arrangements with other nations.
