IAEA Launches Technical Preliminary Consultations with Iran on Nuclear Inspections

According to Japan's Kyodo News, IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi announced on June 26 in Tokyo that the International Atomic Energy Agency has launched technical preliminary consultations with Iran regarding inspections of Iranian nuclear facilities. The preliminary talks were held in Switzerland over the previous weekend. Grossi expressed hope that formal negotiations will commence in the coming weeks. Under a memorandum of understanding reached between the United States and Iran, IAEA inspectors are authorized to access relevant sites in Iran.
