According to China’s Ministry of Public Security, on May 17, China, the United States, and the United Arab Emirates launched their first joint international law enforcement operation to crack down on telecom fraud networks in Dubai. The coordinated action successfully dismantled nine fraud dens and arrested 276 criminal suspects. Investigators found that the fraud rings established fake romantic relationships with victims through social media platforms, then exploited their trust to lure them into investing in high-return cryptocurrency projects, resulting in significant financial losses.
