According to Hanwha Ocean's conference call on June 27, the South Korean shipbuilder's second-quarter operating profit nearly doubled compared to the prior year. As of June 30, the company's order backlog reached 153 vessels worth $33.77 billion, including 125 commercial vessels valued at $25.25 billion and 13 energy plant projects worth $3.65 billion.
In the first half of 2026, Hanwha Ocean secured 24 commercial vessel orders totaling $3.8 billion and 3 energy plant contracts worth $540 million. The company expects order intake to accelerate in the second half as negotiations for 2029–2031 delivery slots advance. Management stated that most 2029 and 2030 slots are under discussion, with contracts expected to materialize as clients finalize decisions.
