According to Hanwha Investment & Securities, Hyundai Mobis reported Q2 operating profit of 975.2 billion won on July 27, significantly beating market expectations despite challenging macro conditions. The profit rose 12.2% year-over-year, while revenue came in at 16.3 trillion won, up 2.4% but slightly below forecasts. Analyst Kim Sung-rae noted that the company maintained profitability in its modules and components division despite multiple headwinds, demonstrating expanded product mix improvements in high-margin automotive electronics offsetting losses from a delivery facility fire and rising material costs.
