FBI Director Kash Patel vowed to intensify efforts against 'pig butchering' crypto scams, which lure unsuspecting victims into fraudulent investment schemes through social engineering. The warning follows the FBI's May seizure of 127,000 BTC and $8 billion in cryptocurrency through Operation Blackout, which targeted scam centers in Cambodia, Dubai, and Thailand linked to human trafficking. Over 300 arrests were made across these regions, aided by Starlink. "Crypto fraudsters have been scamming and taking advantage of the American people for too long. No more! This FBI will find you, and we will bring you to justice," Patel stated on social media. Since launching Operation Level Up in 2024, the FBI has notified over 8,000 fraud victims and saved an estimated $500 million.
