European Law Enforcement Dismantles SIM Card Fraud Ring in Latvia, Seizes $290K in Cryptocurrency

According to Foresight News, European law enforcement and Latvia's counterterrorism unit recently dismantled a SIM card fraud operation, seizing $290,000 in cryptocurrency along with 1,200 SIM boxes and 40,000 active SIM cards. The seven-member network operated two websites offering on-demand overseas phone numbers to criminals for phishing, banking fraud, investment scams, and human trafficking. The operation caused at least 3,200 fraud cases in Austria and Latvia, resulting in $5.8 million in damages.
