80% of UK Businesses Hit by Cost Pressures From Middle East Tensions, Says Chambers Survey

According to a British Chambers of Commerce survey released May 25, 80% of UK businesses reported experiencing or expecting cost pressures linked to Middle East tensions, including rising energy prices, shipping disruptions, and increased raw material costs. The online survey, conducted in April, covered more than 800 companies, predominantly small and medium-sized enterprises. Of respondents, 55% said their operations have already been impacted, while 25% anticipate future effects. Manufacturing firms reported the highest pressure, with 68% citing existing impacts.
